Privacy Policy

Who we are

ASCEND (also "Ascend Props", "we", "us") is a sports research app and the website at ascendprops.net, operated from Canada. For anything in this policy, contact us at arvin@ascendprops.net.

What we collect

• Account details. If you create an account: your email address, a display name if you give one, and your password (stored only in hashed form by our authentication provider; we never see it).
• What you create in the app. The picks you track, the custom models you build, and your settings (preferred sportsbook, default league, unit size). These are stored with your account so they sync across your devices.
• Purchases. If you subscribe, Apple or Google processes the payment. We receive a record of the subscription (product, dates, status) through RevenueCat, linked to an anonymous app ID. We never receive your card or bank details.
• Crash and performance data. When the app or our servers hit an error, a report is sent to Sentry: the error, the device model, operating system and app version. These reports are set up not to include your name, email or account details.
• Server logs. Like any website or online service, our servers record technical details of requests, such as IP address and time, for security and troubleshooting.
• Beta sign-ups. If you join the beta on this website, we keep the email address you give us to send your invite and launch news.

We do not collect your location, contacts, photos or browsing activity in other apps, and we do not track you across other companies' apps or websites.

How we use it

• To run your account and sync your picks, models and settings.
• To provide Premium features you have subscribed to.
• To find and fix bugs and keep the service secure.
• To email you about your beta invite, launch and important account matters. Every marketing email has an unsubscribe option.

We do not sell or rent personal information, and we do not use it for advertising.

Who processes it for us

We use these service providers to run ASCEND. Each processes data only to provide its service to us:

• Supabase: accounts, sign-in and storage of your picks, models and settings.
• Fly.io: hosting for our servers.
• RevenueCat, Apple and Google: subscriptions and payments.
• Sentry: crash and error reports.
• Resend: sending email.
• Netlify and Cloudflare: hosting and network services for this website.

Some of these providers store or process data outside Canada, including in the United States, where it may be accessible to authorities under local law.

How long we keep it

We keep your account data for as long as you have an account. When you delete your account, your account, picks, models and settings are deleted right away. Copies in routine backups are removed as those backups expire, within 30 days. Crash reports and server logs are kept for a limited period and then deleted automatically.

Deleting your account

In the app, go to Account and tap Delete account at the bottom of the screen. This permanently deletes your account and everything stored with it. If you can't get into the app, email arvin@ascendprops.net from your account email and we will delete it for you.

Deleting your account does not cancel a subscription billed by Apple or Google. Cancel it in your App Store or Google Play subscription settings.

Your rights

You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, to correct it, or to delete it, and you can withdraw your consent to our use of it at any time (which may mean closing your account). Email arvin@ascendprops.net and we will respond within 30 days. If you are not satisfied with our answer, you can contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada, or the privacy regulator where you live.

Age

ASCEND is for adults. It is not intended for anyone under 19, or under the legal age for sports betting where you live if that is higher, and we do not knowingly collect information from anyone under that age.

Security

Data is encrypted in transit, access to our systems is restricted, and passwords are stored only in hashed form. No service can promise perfect security, and we will tell you if a breach affects your information, as the law requires.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we will update the date at the top of this page. If a change is significant, we will also tell you in the app or by email.
